Which streaming service has that movie?
Hearing about a good film is easy. Finding it on something you already pay for is the hard part.
The film you heard about, on nothing you pay for
It’s a common story. Someone mentions a film online, you look it up, and it isn’t on a single service you pay for. The night stalls before it starts.
What our catalog shows
Lights Down scores 18,501 films. In the US streaming data the app uses, as of early October 2026:
- About 7 in 10 are on at least one subscription or free service.
- Nearly 1 in 5 are only to rent or buy.
- About 1 in 9 have no US listing at all.
- No single service carries more than about a third of them. Netflix has about 1 in 8.
So a great film is often not on yours, and no single subscription covers it all.
Tell Lights Down what you pay for, once
Choose your services and "on my services" becomes the default. Then add more if you like, in order:
- On my services. You already pay for these, so they come first.
- Free with ads. The next best thing.
- To rent or buy. Last, as a fallback. Nobody sits down for the night hoping to pay for a movie.
Where to watch, on every pick
Each pick shows up to three services right on the card. Turn it over for an "Open in" link that takes you straight to the film on that service, plus any rent or buy options. A "Leaving soon" badge warns you when a film is about to go.
Two homes, one night
You can sign into your streaming apps anywhere. If you and your partner live apart and meet up for the night, Lights Down counts both of your services, so picks come from everything the two of you have between you. When your tastes are the harder part, here’s what to do when you and your partner can’t agree on a movie.
Availability can change
Streaming catalogs shift all the time, so check the service before you settle in. Lights Down covers 65 countries; choose yours under "Watching from" in Filters.
